fusion2 Director & Dancers
Gabrielle Wright, fusion2 Director
Gabrielle Wright a native of New York. She worked with various choreographers and teachers such as Mary Barnett, Nina Klyvert-Lawson and Darrell Moultrie and performed Donald McKayles piece "Games" before moving to Philadelphia to pursue college. She graduated from the University of the Arts in 2003 with a BFA in Dance Education. There she performed various works by choreographers and dance pioneers such as Isadora Duncan, Milton Myers, Kim Bears-Bailey, and Brian Sanders. Since her move, she has also worked with Philadanco’s second company Danco2, LEJA, and the Civic Ballet. Gabrielle has been a company member of Dancefusion for thirteen years and has danced in works of Mary Anthony, Pauline Koner, Daniel Maloney, Suellen Haag, Joe Cicala, and Anna Troester to name a few. Along with performing Gabrielle has taught and choreographed for institutions within the Philadelphia area including, Gwendolyn Bye Dance Center, CAPA High School, Point Breeze Performing Arts Center and Stars Studio of Dance. Additionally, for the last seven years she has also had the pleasure of directing Dancefusion’s fusion2, a training company for young professional dancers.

Anna Rekulak has been dancing at Gwendolyn Bye Dance Center for twelve years, where she dances ballet, pointe, modern jazz and graham technique. This is her third year in fusion2.

Betsy Okrent has been dancing for twelve years. At the age of four, she started dancing at the Gwendolyn Bye Dance Center, where she takes ballet, pointe, modern, and Horton. This is Betsy’s third year with fusion2.

Ella Connelly has been dancing for eleven years at Gwendolyn Bye Dance Center. She takes ballet, pointe, modern "Horton" and jazz. This is Ella's first year with fusion2.

Isabella Royal has been dancing for eleven years taking ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, African and tap. She started her dance journey at church when she was five and started going to Gwendolyn Bye Dance Center at the age of seven, participating in the after school dance classes. Isabella was awarded a scholarship to the Gwendolyn Bye Dance Center and started taking year round classes at the age of eight. This is Isabella’s third year with fusion2.

Malin Glazer has been dancing at Gwendolyn Bye for thirteen years and this is her fourth year dancing with fusion2. She is a senior at Central High School. Malin is so, so grateful for her dance friends and everyone who helped to bring the show together!

Monica Taylor has been dancing for eight years taking ballet, Pointe, modern, and tap. She started dancing at the age of eight at Destined 2 Dance Center for children of color. Monica started her training at the Gwendolyn Bye Dance Center when she was ten years old. This is Monica's third year in fusion2.

Sonja Walker has been dancing for nine years at Gwendolyn Bye Dance Center. She takes ballet, pointe, Horton, and jazz. She has also been doing gymnastics for 12 years. This is her second year in fusion2.

Stephanie Oyelakin has been dancing for 15 years, taking ballet, pointe, modern jazz, african, and tap. She started her dance journey at 3 years old at Gwendolyn Bye Dance Center. This is Stephanie’s third year in fusion2.

Wynn Glazer They have been dancing at the Gwendolyn Bye Dance Center for twelve years studying styles such as ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, and Horton. They are very grateful and proud of their hardworking friends, and excited for the show!
